RICH HOTEL in MAJESTIC HOUSE, TST

RICH HOTEL

rating: 9/10

just across exit B2 of TST MTR. right in the middle of the TST action. room is small but clean. there's not much space but this is normal for all hk hostels. if you want bigger rooms, go to the hotels but they are more expensive. linen and sheets are clean. bathroom is big enough, with hot & cold shower. quiet place. they provide free water so you can refill your water bottles before going out. lots of places to eat at and shop. Golden Crown Court is just a few steps from here where you can buy cheap tickets for attractions. a good find. will stay here again.

BANGKOK CITY HOTEL

BANGKOK CITY HOTEL

rating:   8/10

big room, with 1 single + 1 double bed. w/ mini-ref, cups, coffemaker, tv, bathroom w/ bathtub, hairdryer. hotel has a swimming pool (not heated). breakfast is free though you need to be early or else most of the food would be gone. from the BTS - around 5-10mins walk. bearable but may be a bit far if with senior citizens. the escalators for the BTS would be always on the left side so take note of it. near enough to most tourist spots via BTS. some hawker style stalls near the hotel, try them, they serve good food.

rating: 8/10

room is adequate, with coffeemaker, cups, mini-fridge, tv, 1 double + 1 single bed. bathroom is big and clean. rainshower head. only problem is it has no lock. not an issue with all girls/all boys group, but if co-ed it can be awkward. minimalist style rooms. around 2 blocks away from MTR but during our stay last March 2014, they are fixing a new MTR link almost right outside the hotel. Sim Lim square is just a few steps away, eat at the food court/hawker stalls for cheap but good food. hostel employees are nice and cordial. good find.
