KA LUI... better this time

KA LUI is one of the most if not the most popular resto in Puerto Princesa City. Most of their clients are tourists but they also cater to locals of the city. Reservation is a MUST as they are usually fully booked every meal time.

Kalui Restaurant is made of native wooden house. Its floor is clean and well-polished, you wouldn't mind to walk barefoot because every footwear should be left before entering the restaurant. Your footwear will be placed in small lockers and offer a wide variety of menu which depends on the fresh catch of the day.

Compared to when I first tried their food, better food was served this time. We got their "Ka Lui Special of the Day Set" which is already good for 2 (P555). The set meal has Lobsters, Fish Steak, Fish Roll in Coco Cream, Fried Eggplant, Rice and Lato. Since we were 9pax, we ordered 4 sets of these and added Tempura. FOOD is just HEAVENLY. Portions are sized about right, food tastes GREAT and service is impeccable. Added fruit shakes to complete the meal.

Overall, i would say KA LUI is a must-try for all Palawan tourists. Good food, Nice ambience. Its a nice place to cap off your day.

Bakers' Hill Pasalubong shopping and Palo Alto PUerto Princesa

Bakers' Hill Pasalubong shopping and Palo Alto PUerto Princesa

Van ride to Puerto Princesa

Again, we woke up early for breakfast and our trip back to Puerto Princesa.

last breakfast at casa cecilia

By 7:30am, Kuya Joseph and the van was already waiting outside of the hotel. Kuya though would not be able to accompany us back to Puerto Princesa kasi may other guests siyang kadarating lang din sa El Nido. Anyway, mabait ang driver na kinuha ni Kuya for us and safe naman magmaneho.

Stopped at roadside, for last picture taking of El Nido islets.

we'll be back!
2015. Be back next year? let's see...
Had an early lunch at the resto AFTER "half way resto", better food and service. Then after 5 hours of driving, we are finally back in Puerto Princesa. Returned our snorkling gears and camera case to Ken's and went straight to BAKER'S HILL.

Tourists flock baker's hill for their goodies like hopia, bread, casuy which are sealed and good for pasalubong. They are cheap but taste good. Saktong pangpasalubong. Aside from that, people are free to roam around their garden and have pics with the characters there. See some of our pics below.

I've found LOVE in palawan!
We then went to a souvenir shop before checking in for PALO ALTO. Medyo mahal yun ibang items so di kami masyado namili dito. Won't mention the shop and place anymore but this is just 1-2 blocks away from MCA pasalubong Center which is where the cheaper pasalubong items can be bought. Yun mga printed shirts dito rin mas marami mabibili so if your guide suggests for another place, just tell him to go to MCA dahil mas mura talaga dito. Did not have much time anymore so decided to go there the next day na lang.

Already advised them in advance that we'll be checking in late. Arrived there at 4pm na. Check in was fast, they gave out welcome drinks and assisted us with our luggage. We booked 2 deluxe rooms with loft, again 1 for 4pax and the other for 5pax.

They have a pool (located at the other side of the compound) and a resto. The place is very clean and quiet, has a relaxing vibe and if you really want to be with nature, then this is the place to be. Though its a bit far from the city center, need to take a trike ride (around 5 mins) just to go to the main road.

They do have a shuttle service available, however these are scheduled and you are about to go outside of their schedule, you'd need to pay 300 per ride (for the whole group) to the city center and then another 300 back to the hotel. If you have cash to spare then that's ok but if its a budgeted trip, then you'd probably think that it'll be cheaper if you just go by trike ride.

now for the rooms.

balcony with tables and chairs
We had a great sleep in this room. The bed and pillows are soft, good quality linen. Place is very quiet and sleep quality is great! Towels are clean and soft, water pressure is good. Electronics are all working well. Aircon is cold and enough to cool the room.

Got the rooms for around 5k per deluxe room with addt'l 750 for addt'l pax, for the quality that we get, ok na ok na siya. Cons lang talaga is medyo malayo siya sa city center pero that's what you get if you really want a good sleep. Medyo maingay kasi pag near the main road kumuha ng hotel.

after fixing our things, got into our swimsuit and checked out their pool. Sayang ang oras, need sulitin ang bayad. LOL

When it got dark, nag-ahunan na and showered. Needed to be ready for our 8pm dinner at Ka Lui.

again, we woke up early for breakfast and TOUR A island hopping. Breakfast was continental, with a few slices of bread with Butter and Jam and some fruits. A bit lacking but since its free, who are we to complain right?

Big Lagoon
Small Lagoon
Simizu Island
7 Commandos Beach
Ipil Beach (was not able to go)

some pics while sailing... emotera mode on.. LOL

now, where in manila can you see a view like this?

artista teh? pinagkakaguluhan ka hehe

now, kaninong daliri yan ha?
solo moment

Upon reaching Small Lagoon, i suggest renting a kayak for easier maneuvering inside the lagoon. First time I went to El NIdo last 2013, di kami nagrent and nahirapan kami mag-ikot sa loob dahil lalanguyin mo pa, nakakapagod. Masyadong malawak ang Small Lagoon.

This time, we rented a kayak. 300pesos ang rent and kaya ng 2pax per kayak. Since we were 9 pax, My mom had a solo kayak and was assisted by 1 of our boatmen.

kayak for rent, 300 lang po
my mom and kuya boatman

isipin niyo na lang, pano niyo lalanguyin yan ng hindi kayo napapagod

nagtatago sa sikat ng araw haha
Spent more than an hour inside the small lagoon. Sobrang enjoy!

Pagkabalik sa labas ng small lagoon, bumaba muna kami sa tubig para magpalamig. ang sarap ng tubig! We wanted to stay pa sana but we're starving na rin so we proceeded to SIMIZU ISLAND where we'll have our lunch.

my mom had a quick swim before lunch

ang taguan namin

grilled fish and squid

mussells (sosyal di ba, tahong lang naman haha)

grilled liempo and shrimps

talong with century tuna
after a quick lunch, siesta muna then we snorkled at the right side of the Island. Ang daming isda!

After having our fill of Simizu Island, we then proceeded to 7 commando Beach

After a tiring day, this is the best place to end your Island Hopping tour. The beach itself is not that deep, mala-boracay ang tubig. Malinis and malinaw. Very safe as they cordoned off the area to note kung hanggang saan lang dapat ang mga tourists. They have a mini-store where you can buy snacks, drinks and halo-halo.

sarap ng halo halo

100 pesos for this halo halo

after a while, napansin namin na parang uulan na so we searched for a cottage. (walang bayad ang cottage dito, basta walang tao, puwede mo lagay ang gamit mo)

our cottage with a great view

7 commando
Was supposed to go to another beach after pero we declined na. 7 commando is a great beach for beach bumming and ending the day. We stayed there until past 4pm then went back to the town after.

That night, we had dinner at COCO BAR at the beachfront.

half of the group ordered filipino dishes while the other half had pasta, salad and pizza. Food is good and cheap. We paid around 100 per pax for dinner. Went back to hotel and slept. Need to wake up early again since early trip kami back to Puerto Princesa.
