Bohol - Arrival & Countryside Tour 7/3/2011

We were never a travel-hungry type of family. Most of the time, we just spend the holidays at home or eating out at restos.  I guess we were being too thrifty that we were keeping ourselves away from travelling because we knew we'll probably spend a lot. But it all started in 2011 when we (or is it me?) were bitten by the travel bug and the first province that we went to after that was Bohol.

BOHOL

4 DAYS, 3 NIGHTS (July 3 -6, 2011)

Itinerary for 5pax
1st day - arrival in Tagbilaran then straight to countryside tour
2nd day - Island Hopping
3rd day - Beach bumming at Dumaluan
4th day - free time then straight to airport

1st Day - Arrival & Countryside Tour

We woke up at dawn for our Philippine Airlines flight (can't remember the exact time since this trip was 2 years ago). Arrived the Terminal 2 quite early and settled in for the wait.

at NAIA terminal 2 waiting for our boarding time
There are some food stalls if you haven't taken your breakfast yet but they are quite expensive (P90 for a plain hotdog!!! >.<)  I think a half hour passed before we were called for boarding.

on air...
Me: excited
Mom: sleepy

At last, we're in Tagbilaran, Bohol!!!

Upon arrival, Kuya Ryan (Tatsky's brother - quite famous in PEX at the time as a Driver/Tourguide) was already waiting for us at the airport entrance. He was holding a paper with my name on it so it wasn't a hassle to look for him. Since it was raining a bit upon our arrival, he immediately led us to his van (Red Toyota Innova), loaded our bags and off we went for the countryside tour.

Chocolate Hills

need to walk up these stairs to photograph the Chocolate Hills

rested a bit since it was a steep climb

the rest of our group below

photo time with my mom and brother
pagod na ba? =)

this is the way down if you want na makita ang sceneries beside the chocolate hills. not recommended for seniors though dahil medyo steep yun part na ito

Butterfly Farm

nothing much to see here pero free entrance naman (donation lang if you want).

Bilar Manmade Forest

Hanging Bride in Sevilla

if you're afraid of heights, malamang di ka tumuloy. mauga kasi yun bamboo bridge, ako mismo nahirapan when I tried it. Feeling ko talaga mahuhulog ako sa river. =)

Loboc River Cruise

There were two types of lunches here. One is the set meal while the other is the Buffet type. We chose the buffet lunch since the difference is just a 100-200 pesos. And gutom na rin talaga at this time so buffet is the way to go. Lots of food available like pork, seafood (crabs!!!), salad, etc. Sulit naman binayad namin. May libreng entertainment pa (solo guy singer who was singing songs of different languages - may korean, chinese and of course tagalog)

the port

pahinga sandali
Prony the Python in Baclayon

there were lots of animals here pero the star is Prony the python. May entrace but i don't remember how much na. This is where we bought peanut kisses pala. A lot cheaper than in other places.

Baclayon Church

the place is very serene, we didn't take much pics inside kasi naalangan kami. It still is a church not just a tourist spot so we were contented taking pics outside. The church is also popular for the images on its walls (Padre Pio on the outside walls of the church) so you might want to check it out. By the way, if you're going inside the church be sure to wear proper attire kasi bibigyan ka talaga nila ng sarong para pantakip if you're wearing sleeveless or shorts.

amazing isn't it?
Blood Compact - Magellan

Hinagdanan Cave

As per wikipedia: "Hinagdanan Cave was accidentally discovered when the owner of the area was clearing the decaying branches of the land when he found the hole. The owner throw a stone into the hole, then he heard a splash. Then he build a ladder to get into the cave. They named it Hinagdanan, means "laddered" used to get into the cave's interior."

galing ng lighting hehe

Bohol Bee Farm

This is also a resort/hotel so you can stay here if you want. They have a pool (pero nasa may resto/lobby area) and a stair access sa dagat. Parang more on pang-snorkling yun place niya so if you want to beach bum better go to alona or dumaluan na lang. What i absolutely love about this place is they have their own organic farm. siguradong fresh ang pagkain and their ice cream is to die for! If I visit Bohol again, di ko palalampasin puntahan ang Bohol Bee Farm because of their ice cream.

the pool in the middle of the lobby
By the time we were done with the countryside tour, it was around 6:00PM na. My mom was already tired even before this so if you noticed di na siya kasama sa ibang pics since she opted to stay either at the car or at the lobby. She'd been to Bohol na rin kasi before so she didn't miss much naman. (saw the Tarsiers too pero di ko na sinama dito. No good pics kasi. Anyway, next post -- Island Hopping naman )

Island Hopping + Dolphin Watching

Free time at Alona Beach
